I did some research on this Publishing house because I needed to see what types of music magazines they published. I found out that they publish NME and UNCUT. I did this because I wanted to see what one would be best suitable for my magazine and this magazine is best suitable for the reason that these magazines are near to the same music genre I want to include in my magazine and that the price range is acceptable for my target audience.

This is my analysis of 3 different magazine front covers that my magazine will be similar to. It shows how all the language techniques, the position and/or sizes of images and words on the magazine imply or influences the customer who sees the front cover at a glance decide whether to purchase it or not. I will base my own indie magazine front cover on examples like these.

For the preliminary task I had to create a college newsletter for Negus sixth form college hence the name "Negus news" I named the newsletter this because it is a short catchy name and is easy to remember. The software I used  to make it is Microsoft Publisher. I used this lined paper layout because it is relevant to the type of newsletter it is as this is the kind of paper a student would use at a school or college, I made the colour of the text on the title of the magazine red along with the effect on the picture as this is the school colours and this would also make it recognisable. The purpose of this newsletter is to inform students about upcoming events and to publish the success of the college to encourage enrollment at this sixth form.
